So Close!!!

Winter Break is almost here!!!!  Grades are almost final (final grades will be posted by FRIDAY 12/21).  When we return on January 7:

ALL STUDENTS will need their new notebook.  Several students brought a second notebook to school during the first few weeks in August.  They have been safely (a bit dusty) stored in the Science room for January.  We will begin working in our new notebook when we return.

7th grade will be learning about Earth History, specifically Rocks and Minerals

8th grade will be learning about Chemistry.

Things to remember:
- Celebration of Joy (our Middle school potluck) will be on 12/19 at the end of the day
- 12/20 is a HALF DAY with release for middle school at 12 Noon!
- NO SCHOOL December 21 - January 4
- 3rd Quarter begins on January 7

Week of December 10

The end is near!!!  The end of the quarter that is. :D

8th Grade:  We are working on our Balloon Racers.  This is the FINAL PROJECT of our Physics unit.  Important dates:

• Thursday (12/13) - Race day.  Cars are expected to be finished and will compete!  5 meters is the minimum ON RACE DAY!
• Friday (12/14) - Blueprint & Data.  
• Friday (12/14) - Physics Final!
• Monday 12/17) - Balloon Racer Paper.  This includes the instruction manual and physics explanation.

7th Grade:  We are finishing up our Astronomy unit with Constellations!  Students have learned about 5 of them as well as one asterism.  Our final is also on FRIDAY 12/14!

Week of December 3

This week in Science:

8th Grade:  Wrapping up Newton's 3 Laws and will prepare for our final project! 

7th Grade:  Learning about Galaxies
